Recommend a film to me. I've decided it's past time I started watching films in addition to television series. I've yet to see so many well-known ones!

So I decided a good way to go would be to ask advice. What is your favourite movie? Or one you enjoy as a guilty pleasure? Please, tell me and provide a shortish explanation why, and I shall be adding seen titles to the list :) I particularly like films that mix the genres :D

I'm back from Grandparents of Malice, but who cares. Doctor Who night!!!!1!1!

The Shakespeare episode? It was mindblowing and all I could have expected.

Pff. Pierwszy (lub drugi, zależy jak patrzeć) popełniony przeze mnie fanfic Prison Breakowy. Bardzo, bardzo spoilerowy, do 2x16 włącznie.
Ostrzeżenia: Spoilery. Moje skrzywienie na punkcie wtrąceń, czarne poczucie humoru i chyba to by było na tyle.

Dedykowane kochanym kubis i pellamerethiel które dzielnie mnie w ten fandom wciągały, a ta pierwsza nawet widziała niezbetowaną wersję tegoż dzieła i nie oślepła (chyba).

Tomorrow, I'm off to my beautiful Uni!Town, from where I shall the day after depart, destined South, to the Town of Krak. In there, I shall have the pleasure to meet a number of my beautiful flisters, while being subject to legendary pleasures Grimmauld Place (aka Pelle's house) offers. Oh lucky moments, oh bliss and happiness, oh joy untold!

In other words, visiting friends is for the win.

The dentist was okay. The sedative was Real Strong and I almost didn't feel pain. And I only bled a bit and now have a very pretty tooth, somewhere among the rotten ones... ;)

Also, I dreamt of earthquakes today.

That means complete off-line until Tuesday or Wednesday and partial from then on, until such time comes that I get my beautiful laptop back.

And Rang De Basanti was really, really good. I even cried a bit.

In her mock English maturity exam, my sister was supposed to write an explanation why she had to come back earlier from a trip abroad.

My sister wrote from a male point of view. Her (his? ;)) wife went into labour and s/he had to come back.

I'm proud of her for having such a great original idea, and being able to write from a different point of view. But on the other hand, what kind of husband goes on a trip abroad when his wife is in the third trimester?

Otherwise - yay for merry_smutmas, hgss_exchange and all that jazz. December. This is better than advent calendars :D

A question to my dear Native Speakers of English.

Situation A
You've been robbed. You call for a policeman or a police officer?

Situation B
You see a man wearing the characteristic uniform. You say, "Look, a policeman" or, "Look, a police officer?"

Situation C
You see a woman wearing the characteristic uniform. You say, "Look, a policewoman", "Look, a police officer" or something else?

I just don't know what's political correctness, what's being rude, this kind of thing. What do you say in 2006?

PS: (boasting) I have written what quite possibly is the first Doctor Who fanfiction in Polish. This feels weird, but also very pleasant ;] (/boasting)

Okay, so this post is either for people who are CSI addicts and up-to-date with the sixth season, or for people who don't care for CSI but care for seeing what made me totally freak out and be awed.

( What is that supposed to be? )

Today, I wrote 2384 words long fic, a complete fic, for the Polish LOST ficathon. I did it. It's got manly friendship and slash subtext that is quite visible, as far as subtext goes. And even if the characters are slightly OOC, it's not so much as to make the story bad, in my opinion. And I'm happy with some of the word choices I did in it. And you know what? Writing 2384 word in ONE GO (with short free periods to think a bit/have a snack/check mail/answer an instant messanger message) totally drained me. But it feels unbelievably good, too.

Also, my Mum's nameday cake is good. I'm a baking goddess.

I feel like celebrating.

I know I've been mostly absent on LJ lately, and when I was posting, it was in Polish. I have a good excuse, I swear! I'm taking part in my first ever ficathon. Polish ficathon centred around LOST TV series. And if I may tell you, so far it's being really awesome.

I have to write something connected with a daily prompt. So far I've completed 4/5 (today's story is waiting to be written) and I'm exhausted - I've not been on such a writing schedule ever before - and then there's reading others' stories and commenting - and on a good day, there are ten stories to be read and reviewed. Woo-hoo!

My promised picspam is thus still in the making, but promise, I'm not abandoning it. I'm far too egocentric for that.

oWhat else is going on in my little world? My Mum's nameday is tomorrow, so I'll be baking a cake for her. And I've been given a receipe for bread that I do want to try out. And I've started watching the second season of Doctor Who and decided to stop and leave it to myself for a less busy time, or at least a time when I'll be desperate for some quality tv. Similarly with Carnivale. It's too good to be watched with just half my attention.

I'm re-watching Vernica Mars instead. It's funny to watch initial episodes knowing what I know now. I'm watching them with Mum, btw, and she hates Logan. We're just on episode four, nevertheless. She'll change her mind. Right? :D

And I got myself new icons. :)
