Two things have changed since I've last been here - one is my turning nineteen (I encourage well-wishers because I love them ;) and the other is - I've had my first Uni classes.
It's absolutely wonderful. So much English all at once. Grammar structures, writing, speaking, literature, history of the UK... It is tough - and damn expencive. The teachers encourage us to copy bookd before we would never afford all the new ones we need. I have to check ten grammar guides for just one class - and I have twelve different courses.
Still...
I LOVE English.
Off to read Beowulf, and not the modern version...

Date: 2005-10-06 07:40 am (UTC)Beowulf is not bad, but I thank God I've read Gardner's Grendel some time ago, otherwise I'd have trouble understanding what's going on. This XIX century American English can be difficult :D
One part read, two more to go :D
