lost, thy mythology

1. I have to say "Mother made it so that we cannot harm each other and the pretty light keeps everyone on the planet alive" is somewhat more sensible that "God did it!" and somewhat less than "well, a demon raped the first one and its essence is alive in every slayer, cause Shadow Men were sadistic bastards, but that can all be changed with this anachronistic weaponry".
2. I know that, in a way, it made for a good story, and I have to say I think they did well on making violence terrible and un-pleasant to look at, but... fuck, the "Mother" killed the woman right after she gave birth -_- and then her adopted son killed her -_- and then a brother killed a brother :( one hell of a homicidal family and yk, that's all A WOMAN'S FAULT cause she started it.
3. So I think the point is that the Mother was, in a way, both - Smoke Monster, and the protector of the light, because she knew about the danger from the light firsthand, and that's how she was able to burn down the village, kill everyone and destroy the well. And she was no longer immune because of the Magic Blade/because she passed onto Jacob the holy duty? Something like that. And she did want to die, as women typically do, judging by my recent research into BSG.
4. Heh. OMG CJ from The West Wing! Btw.
