As may be noticed I have finally added a second icon and used it. The man you can see in the photo is my second favourite politician (after Armand, of course). Jan Maria Rokita.
The text beneath comes from a new TV debate in which he participated. It went like this:
Andrew Lepper (the leader of Self-Defence, a populist party): (in an accusatory voice) You are an intelligent!
John Mary Rokita : Yes, and there's nothing I can do about it.
I so fangirl him. Squee of the week. I'd even add a few exclamation marks but I'm too sober to do that.
He is also called "3 in 1" because Jan (John) is a male name, Maria (Mary) a female one and "Rokita" means a devil from folk tales. Essentially - three in one, a man, a woman and a devil.
Reading - I've been reading a lot these last few weeks. I finally read something by Jeanette Winterson, namely "Gut Symmetries" and I really liked it. Especially the language. I'm looking forward to seeing her participation in that project of writers all over the world re-telling myths. Atwood already wrote her piece. And my favourite Polish writer, Jacek Dukaj, is to take part, too.
I also read Daphne Du Maurier's "Glass Blowers" and it was such a heart-warming tale. I like Daphne's style but this was somewhat different from what I know of her novels. Not worse, though.
And main character's older brother Pierre was absolutely amazing. Now that's a character to have a crush on.
I wrote my first test - in Latin - and i'm almost sure I'm going to pass. One needs to have 75% to pass, but it wasn't really that difficult.
I had to name the basic form of the word 'severe' (Polish 'surowy'). Severus, severa, severum.
I didn't laugh.
