Happily possessive Novinha. That's who I am today. I did some shopping and what I bought is under the cut, because I bought a lot and still am nice, supposedly:

Dear Enemy by Jean Webster - 0 zl. (for the Librarian from the library is an aquiantance and said no one was buing anyway). It's a book I read as a young girl that I really loved and will gladly give my own daughter one day.
A crime novel by a good Polish writer - 0 zl again, for the aforementioned reason.
And a book for children, in hardcover, good edition, 0 zl ditto.

Then I went to a second-hand bookshop and bought The BFG by Roald Dahl for 6 zl. I was very happy to find it, because my Dad gave this book to me a few years ago, when I was still a Roald Dahl-for-children reader and it was destroyed some time later. Now I finally have a copy.

Then I came back to my hometown and to a library where they were selling old books, too, and I bought five volumes of Maurice Druon's historical novels - for 5 zl. total. My Mum loves historical novels, too, and was very glad. He's not a verry, verry good writer, but a great read.

My favourite one I spotted by accident - there was Daphne Du Maurier's "Rebecca" on the sale, too! Now that absolutely made my day, because "Rebecca" is one of my favourite novels. It's an old edition, of course, but that's even better, because it's bound and not glued. Glued books get easily destroyed. And a hardcover, too. 1 zl.

And my Grandparents gave me some money for my birthday and I took my 25 zl. gift certificate (given to me by the music-books-et consortes-shop for having booked a HBP copy before the date of release) and bought myself Tori Amos's "Tales of a Librarian". I was lucky enough to spot one CD that still had the old price 43 zl. rather than the new ones that cost 60 zl. And I've seen them in other shops costing 95 zl. I feel like I've saved money rather than spent them ;)

It's a totally boring post which means I'm a happy person today. I told you I like my boredom. I can now bore everyone to tears by listening to my new Tori.

Now let's sum up how much I've spent (actually my Beloved Mum paid for the books, but let's put it together anyway)

6+6+43=55 zl. It's less than ten pounds. Not a small money here, but not that much, either. With such money you could buy twenty pounds of grapes or oranges. Or two new books (paperbacks). Well, not the best-sellers and not the long ones. Not Harry Potter, he's damn expensive. (HBP in English = 99zl.)

I'm happy with myself. If I were the kind of a woman who goes shopping for clothes to lift her spirits I'd have spent thrice as much at the least.

I've still got enough money to get myself a Dictionary of Idioms and an Oxford Grammar Book written by that Swan guy that I liked so much. My next things to buy, in case you weren't yet asleep.

And I'll make my friends get me Tori Amos's "Boys for Pele" for my birthday. I'm an evil plotting Prime-Minister-to-be.
