I went to the dreaded family meeting. My Mum told me I was to buy proper presents "from the whole family". I hate buying gifts. It wasn't that bad, though - I got a nice pendant for my aunt and "Momo" by Michael Ende for my cousin (she's only 7, a bit young for that book, but I hope she'll like it, and there are just so few good books for children sold nowadays).

I had another long argment with my uncle, who wants to make me a better person, was terrified by the sheer amount of energy their three children possess (scary, that trio) and came back early enough to watch The Recruit and perv over Pacino. I really ought to change my taste in men, by a generation or two.
