Jul. 10th, 2005 06:36 pmI am ever so happy - my local bookshop just declared they would have Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on the day of release rather than the following week. I simply can't wait.
And in that spirit, hereby I gathered a list of ten things I want and don't want to happen in the Sixth Book. Here they come:
Ten Good Things (Good Of Course Equals Awaited By Novinha)
1. A Good Slytherin makes an appearance - I want to see a proof of prejudices being wrong. I'd most like for it to be one of the seventh or sixth-years.
2. Hagrid is the one who dies - I am evil, but I simply don't like this character. He is so good, naive and all that jazz. Annoys me. And it's difficult to write Hagrid-speak, so I kill or send him off in my stories, anyway.
3. Dumbledore shows his great and Terrifying Powers - I do hope the cover is a nod in that direction. I want to see some Yoda-like show.
4. Another House Elf wants freedom - I really don't like it when people refer to Hermione's efforts for the House Elves as silly and childish. Slavery is wrong, even if the enslaved creatures don't understand it. Her ways are childish, her beliefs aren't.
5. Some more sarcasm from Severus Snape - one of the main reasons I like him so much is that he gets all the best sentences in the books. I adored the Umbridge/Snape interaction in the OotP.
6. Ron asks Hermione out - I really like the Hermione/Ron subplot. I suppose this makes me a bad SS/HG fangirl. I guess I'll live.
7. The readers get some insight into the workings of the Malfoy Family - I am so curious ever since it was pointed out to me that Draco referred to Lucius as 'dad' in the end of OotP.
8. Petunia has some magical powers - I just want to find out about Petunia's true story. I smell something rotten.
9. Snape is reveiled not to be a spy - I still can't believe that Snape is spying for Dumbledore. It's far too obvious. I know it's a damn useful plot devise but it just doesn't add up with him giving Harry Occlumency lessons.
10. Detailed list of OWL results of as many students as it is possible - I just want to know how they passed. Especially Hermione and Neville.
Ten Thing That I Hope Will Not Occur
1. Snape's death - I don't think he will die before book Seven but...
2. Any one of the Trio's death - they are too much fun. Please, no.
3. Sirius' comeback - as unlikely as it seems, I still fear that JK will let the dog out. No to ressurections.
4. Percy-as-a-Death-Eater - it seems to be a logical conclusion and thus I don't want it at all. It would really anger me, as he is my second favourite male Weasley (first being Arthur).
5. Harry Gryffindor - for obvious reasons.
6. Harry or Neville not earning an E on their Potions OWL and being admitted to Snape's NEWT class on Dumbledore or McGonagall's special request - it would be so unfair.
7. Ron being stupid/silly - I like the boy. I want to see him have some good scenes.
8. Lots of Quidditch - it always bores me. I don't like most sports. Quidditch is no exception.
9. Harry still being in love with Cho - I just don't like her. She is irritating, and not because of her constant crying. Because she is soo pretty and plays sports and still is in Ravenclaw. The perfect girl who had a perfect boyfriend.
10. School Year progressing as planned - it's war. I want lots of action and total chaos. Many deaths. :)

Date: 2005-07-10 06:50 pm (UTC)I'd like to add that I don't want to see Lupin or Pansy die because I RP them and I've already paid for their journals. Other than that, my prediction is that Dumbledore is going to pull an Aslan-Gandolf and die, and then come back in a purified, more powerful form. I don't think all those phoenix references are for nothing.
I also think Peter is going to kill Lupin with that creepy silver hand of his. I think that Harry is rewarded for showing mercy to Peter when they were in the shrieking shack by having Peter redeem himself in the end by playing a key role in the final victory.
/Sybil Trelawneyesque screwball predictions.
(Oh, you don't seem to be getting my long emails. I'm going to set up a beta filter on my LJ and I'll post the chapters there. :) )

Date: 2005-07-11 10:59 am (UTC)Bloodthirsty? Me?
(Reminds herself about her story which was later nick-named Weasley Slaughter)
Perhaps.
And the Marauders deaths seem to be inevitable, don't they? I'm sure Wormtail will pull a Gollum here.
