novin_haLet's find five good things about today.
1. The weather is nice so walking my monster of a dog won't be unpleasant.
2. My younger sister comes back today so no more washing the dishes. Hurray! (I'm nasty, I know that)
3. Azrael Geffen updated Objects of Desire.
4. I'm going to start my new fanfiction today and late last night I had an idea for the first few sentences. It might begin like this:
A strong kick to the ribs wakes her up from her troubled sleep. She isn't disorientated, nor is she afraid. She knew that was to be expected. She is prepared.
The boot connects with the side of her face and the metallic taste in her mouth is familiar, good. She spits some blood and meets the torturer's gaze.
He is more afraid of her than she is of him, and they both know it. She is wandless, hungry and feverish. He is, supposedly, much more in control of the situations.
She'd mock him if her mouth weren't full of her own blood. He's weak. He knows nothing of true pain, power or loyalty. The man strikes again, and the world goes black for a while. When she looks at him again, she thinks she recognises him.
"Longbottom?" she asks, but as soon as the mumbled question escapes her, she remembers it can't be him. Longbottom is no longer an Auror. She saw to that. And he would hardly be kicking her even if he were able to.
I need to check my dictionary to find good words for saying something with mouth ful of blood, but other than that, I like it so far.
5. The "Spy" translation is almost finished. I mean it. Almost there. And my new beta confessed she was looking forward to reading it because she had read my previous translations and was sure I'd picked something interesting.
On the bad side - my little brother is ill. Yesterday evening he felt bad, today he's got a high fever. I hope it's nothing serious, just a cold.
