I think one is never prepared for such a thing. I mean, I knew that terrorist would attack sooner or later, but still... We like to forget, don't we? The scary thing is these Londoners shown on TV who claimed 'they were glad to have it over with'. Or something akin. Kind of scary - do we really think terror a necessary evil?
I don't. One attack is too much. I am glad there were not more people killed, but it's still too many.
I actually only learnt in the evening, after coming back from a city where I went to get my papers to a University. It was scary, to come back home and hear about something like this. On 11 IX 2001 I was on a field trip with my class. We spent our time in front of a tv, watching the news, instead of visiting.
What makes me most angry now is Putin's commentary. About how the Russians know best what the Londoners are going through. It was kind of disgusting. I know that it must be terrible for, let's say, people in Moscow. But there is a big difference between the Chechenyan (is this the way this should be written? Where is my dctionary when I need it?) and, say, Afghan terrorists. What's that? The Russians started that - and they don't play fair, either. I am, of course, against any act of terror - bt this includes the acts of terror the Russian army commits.
I am wondering who did it - somehow I think those who claim to have done it are trying to take 'the credit'. I am not sure if it was anyone connected to the bin Laden. But w'll see. Or not.
I send my prayers to the victims of this terrible act of violence. And my support to the courageous Londoners. I loved that speech about how the terrorists will never win.
