I went to the cinema and saw GoF. And loved almost every minute of it.

The funny thing is, just before the film started they gave an ad that seemed so femmeslash... and I murmured to my friend - "I hope this is a good sign."

And my, was that film slash-ful.

I am going to be considerate ad write my GoF not-really-a-review under a cut.

I am back from the cinema. And my first impression is...

WoW. Like, WOW. Or even WOW

Not that the film was faultless - need I mention Death Eater fashion? Or the total feeling of chaos because no plot could be followed? Or the most insensible scene of Harry finding Barty in the forest, going to Dumbledore and WTF forgetting everything about it?!

But it had what appears to be the best moments I have seen in the whole series. Details that just gave it a flourish.

Karkaroff - perfect, if somewhat not canon. Krum's Friend with Sideburns - teh hot. Lucius/Isaacs and Snape - I don't want to get long-winded...

I just want to say - we, Eastern Europeans are really that hot ;)

As to slash...

Karkaroff/Snape = OTP

Do I have to say Sneasley? What was Snape doing touching Ron's scalp like THAT? That was just so... slash. I'd feel dirty if Ron hadn't looked so old. Jailbait :D

And I could go on and on. Harry/Cedric. Harry/Ron. Snape/Karkaroff.

And I loved the bit when Snape put his hand on Dumbledore's back, supportively. So yes, I trust Snape. So what?

As to the dubbing...

I don't know who did the translation, but they need to be burnt, alive. Do you wat to hear the greatest unintentional joke of the century?

Hermione: How am I supposed to tell him that?
Ron: In Polish.

*Iz ded.*

Whoever chose the chit who dubs Hermione must hate the poor character - it's unbearable. More offensive than dubbing Rickman and Isaacs together. Totally unsuitable.

And the dubbing they did for Amos Diggory... spoilt the scene of Cedric's dead body brought back to Hogwarts completely.

All in all, film deserves 8/10 in my not really humble opinion and even more in the catheogry of being an eye candy - and I am a sucker for eye candy when I go to the cinema.

It was great

I've arefully chosen non-dubbed version, so I could get McGonagal's whole-sentence aliteration :)
But there were plain mistakes in translation, too.

Whole sentence?!

I wants it, I wants it soooo much!!!

When you don't have to hear the original dialogue to realise that there is something truly wrong with the translation, then it's a really bad one.

Have you seen Dogma DVD? Or Love, Actually DVD? I hated the translations there. "Stoned" = skamieniały. Rainy day = deszczowy dzień.

Where is my head...

Barty Crouch Jr/David Tennant & The Tongue Tick - that's what totally stole my daydreams.

Which means: BCJr/Snape, oh yess, give it to usss, preciousss.

But I liked PoA more.

You just liked to have Lupin in PoA, admit it ;)

Really? I didn't much care for Barty Crouch Jr. But after the movie I felt so... hungry for Snape/Ron or Snape/Karkaroff. The film screamed for it. As well as made Harry/Myrtle canon. I almost pity Harry.

But I hear you're not the only one with an interest in Jr's tongue, so a new ship apparently is being born...

I haven't seen those movies, but I did see a movie where the name of a ship "Prince of Orange" was translated as "Ksiaze Pomarancza".
I've also heard "good gun, thirty queues in the clip" (dobra spluwa, ma trzydziesci kolejek w magazynku).

I'm being serious. I collect such quotes.

I rec them both ;) And not just for the sake of (*^&*(^% translations.

Trzydzieści kolejek... Boggles my mind.

Hello,

I saw your comments on Shiv's posts. And I noticed your strange icon. You like Richelieu, well, no one is perfect after all (sorry, I think I am biased because of Alexandre Dumas' books.)

May I friend you?
