2006 in Fic
I think this is a tad bit self-indulgent on my part, but I'm just so happy with my writing last year - I've never been writing so much in my life. It was mainly concentrated around the ficathons, it was mainly in Polish, it was mainly Lost. But not all. This is also a masterlist. This part is my non-ficathon stories. Once I've got more time, I'll do ficathon masterlists.
My non-ficathon stories:
1) "Trzy rozdania" - my being rusty was very, very visible. It's LOST, Shannon/Boone, angsty, in Polish. I'm not very happy with it, although I think I had a couple of nice phrases in it. And I am certainly glad I was writing again. I conceived the idea in church - the priest was a very bad speaker...
2) "W których umiera Kate" - written for Nilc's birthday, this one was, in my opinion, infinitely better. It was, in a way, my first experiment with "creepy" style, at least in parts. It was almost a collaboration with![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
dark_vanessa, who helped shape this fic and improved it so much. And taught me a some things :) Or so I'd like to think, that I've learnt them... LOST, Kate-centric, deathfic. Polish.
3) "Cold" was a Shannon/Boone drabble in English. I am quite happy with it - a bit of fluff, a bit of angst, a bit of creepy, around 200 words.
4) "umysł jak szklanka" - Christian Sh. fic that I think has some nice things to it. And I like the title. In Polish, for a challenge. LOST.
5) "Od zmierzchu do świtu" is my attempt at crack, porn and fluff. It's a third part of a trilogy of fics, and describes Kate and Sawyer's marital bliss. Except not. It's also infamous for four-armed-alien sex, Ice & Fire reference and Tristan and Iseult reference. As Nilc told me - she didn't think I had it in me to write that kind of thing. Ha. I did :D Might not be as funny as the two previous parts, but I would have laughed reading it ;)
6) "Nimfy" - this one wasdark_vanessa's birthday present. One I did work on, and that might not be as good as it could have been - I get the feeling that it's sort of too liquid, not really hitting where I wanted it to, but I am still very happy with the mythology and some phrases. And synesthesia. It's one trope I love. LOST, Desmond/Penny, Claire, Sayid, Locke, post-2 season finale. It did not receive much of a response - I generally get more feedback when I write crack, I've found.
7) Now as to the drabbles I've written for prompts:
"Kapitan Cortez" - Lost, Cortez senior. A ff I still like.
"Buttons" - is that my only HP fanfiction of the year?! Almost. HP/DM pre-slash. Angsty and fluffy, vulnerable!Draco and Auror!Harry. Post-war. I liked writing it, and the receipient loved it, and that made my day :)
"ConMama" has no redeeming value whatsoever. Okay, maybe not that bad, but not good either. I didn't even manage the ship I was asked to - I wish I could have done better.
"Safety of Objects" - this is the drabble I'm happiest with. Shannon/Boone, in English, actually received some feedback. Wasn't even really a drabble, somewhat too long. Shannon needs to shave her legs. What more do we need, srsly?!
"Crossover from Hell" - this is not really a title. It wasn't titled. It's a HP/Discworld crossover I received no feedback about. Not even from the receipient, which made me sort of sad, but maybe they had nothing good to say about it. I did try, though -and it has nouveau riche Malfoy XD
I really wish I had been posting the drabbles in posts rather than comments because perhaps that would have made them more noticable, and I am a feedback horse. (gosh, that wank is still fresh in my mind... and this almost becomes a Renata Begger reference, doesn't it?).
I hope I'll be writing even more this year :)
